1. I acknowledge that the nature of this website has been explained to me and that it is being used to inform a research project being conducted by Edith Cowan University and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

2. Any questions I have asked have been answered to my satisfaction.

3. I understand that I may also contact the research team at any time if I have ongoing questions about the research project.

4. I agree to participate in this activity, realising I may withdraw at any time.

5. I agree that the research data gathered for this study may be published provided I am not identifiable.

6. I understand that the online intervention will run for approximately 12 months and that I will be asked to liaise with health professionals, complete self assessments and questionnaires at regular intervals.

7. I understand that I may be approached for further feedback on how MEHN has impacted on my life. All data collected is transcribed and my identity will not be disclosed in any publication of the research. I may decline this invitation and choose not to be interviewed. 

8. MEHN is provided as a means of communication between those concerned by men’s health and as a general information service.

9. Any advice given by MEHN members or information contained and posted on the website does not constitute medical advice and is in no way considered to be complete or accurate or to take into account individual circumstances. Any medical or health-related information which MEHN members might seek to rely upon should be discussed with your physician.

10.  I have read, am aware of  the MEHN Community Guidelines and will abide by them.

11. The opinions expressed on MEHN are solely those of their author.

12. While due diligence will be exercised to moderate the dialogue, this will be carried out at intervals by volunteers and researchers and there will be times when the website contains unmoderated dialogue.

13. MEHN users agree to exonerate the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Department of Health and Ageing, Edith Cowan University, Vario Health Institute, all researchers, volunteers and fellow users from any liability arising from the operation of MEHN.

14. As a member of MEHN, you agree not to post messages that, threaten, solicit, offend, harass, embarrass or impersonate any other person. You also agree not to post messages that violate any persons' privacy or other rights. In particular, you agree not to make slanderous comments by disclosing the name of your doctor or other health professionals. If you wish, you can make comments by referring to "Your Doctor" in general.

15. Members are to be considerate of other members community postings and not under any circumstances use the information contained within to act maliciously towards any other person.

16. You also agree that the MEHN research team can make use of your comments on the website.

17. As a member of MEHN, you understand that all website activity is logged and IP addresses are recorded against each forum post made. Only the administrators can view this information for research and management purposes.

18. All members and guest users are not permitted to copy or publish any MEHN content or postings externally without the express permission of the Administrators.

19. You understand that by using the MEHN Service, you may be exposed to content that is offensive or objectionable. In this instance, you agree to exonerate the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Department of Health and Ageing, Edith Cowan University, Vario Health Institute, all researchers, volunteers and fellow users from any liability arising from this exposure.

20. We reserve the right to withdraw or modify access rights at our sole discretion in the interests of more efficient and/or harmonious conduct of the website.
